Cumbria is the most north-westerly county in England. Local government is organised in a two-tier system, with a single county council, and six district councils.
There are also several hundred town/parish councils/meetings in Cumbria – their umbrella oragnisation is CALC.
Cumbria has six parliamentary constituencies (with different borders from the districts). The map shows the county boundary in orange; parliamentary constituency boundaries in black; and district council boundaries in magenta (click on the map for a larger version).
